Telecoms: Kroes to urge support for Digital Agenda at informal meeting of EU Telecoms Ministers, 18-20 April 2010, Granada

(16 April 2010)European Commission Vice-President for the Digital Agenda Neelie Kroes will be urging EU Telecoms Ministers at their informal Telecoms Council in Granada on 18-20 April 2010 to work together with the Commission and the European Parliament to implement an ambitious strategy to ensure that Europe's digital economy delivers maximum benefits to citizens and business and contributes to sustainable prosperity for Europe. Vice-President Kroes will welcome the Declaration on a Digital Europe due to be adopted by the Ministers, which will be taken into account by the Commission in its forthcoming Communication on a European Digital Agenda. The European Digital Agenda is one of the pillars of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

What comes Next in Electronic Communications? A Review of the New EU Framework

The Institute for European Legal Studies of the University of Liege organises this half-day conference on the new EU regulatory framework for electronic communications. High-profile speakers, including Commission officials, the President of BEREC, expert lawyers, economists and consultants have been invited. The deadline for registration is 18 April.

Access for All in the desktop, web and mobile field: an end-user and developer perspective

6 October 2010 - 9 October 2010 Seville, Spain

The Workshop/User Forum aims to bring together end-users and experts in the field of assistive technologies, that focus on the accessibility of desktop, web and mobile applications. During the workshop the AEGIS project will present the tools developed so far, and will stimulate discussions between both end-users and application developers concerning the project's outcomes so far. The outcomes will be taken into account by the Consortium during the further course of the project. Participation to the workshop will be free of charge. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 30 April.
