Fundación Banco Santander - CNIO Postdoctoral Programme for British Scientists in Madrid

The Fundación Banco Santander - CNIO Postdoctoral Programme for British Scientists is aimed to recruit committed, talented and highly motivated recent British PhD graduates to the CNIO. Successful candidates will have the opportunity of spending two years developing an ambitious research project as part of their postdoctoral training within one of the CNIO's Research Programmes: Molecular Oncology, Structural Biology and Biocomputing, BBVA Foundation - CNIO Cancer Cell Biology, Molecular Pathology, Human Cancer Genetics and Clinical Research.
The general aim of this programme is to consolidate the bases for an increased exchange of scientific knowledge between the most prestigious cancer research institutions in the UK and Spain, fostering cutting-edge scientific collaborations.

We seek:
• This call is open only to applicants trained in the UK.
• Applicants must hold a PhD or MD degree before the start of the fellowship but not necessarily when applying.
• The date when the degree was awarded must be no more than 3 years prior to the deadline of this call.
• Applicants must have a proven record of research accomplishments and at least one original first author publication (including joint authorship), either published or accepted, in an international peer-reviewed journal with a high impact factor at the time of application.
• The upper age limit for eligibility is 35 years.

The CNIO offers:
• An excellent and stimulating working environments with a multidisciplinary approach to cancer research
• State-of-the-art equipment and core facilities
• A competitive salary of € 30,400 to 34,200 (gross) per year, depending on marital status, children, etc.
