A PhD Fellowship associated to the project "DNA methylation Changes in Autoimmune Disease: Characterization of Cell-Specific Pathways and Machinery Involved" (Ref: SAF2011-29635) is offered by the group of Dr. Esteban Ballestar within the Cancer Epigenetics and Biology Programme (PEBC) at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) in Barcelona.

We are looking for young scientists with outstanding qualifications who wish to do their PhD in a scientific stimulating environment. Motivated biologists, biochemists, geneticists or pharmacologists are encouraged to apply. Medium/High English level. Experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques will be valued.

The primary goal of the group led by Esteban Ballestar is devoted to the establishment of different mechanisms of epigenetic deregulation in the context of the hematopoietic system in both autoimmune diseases and hematological malignancies. A multidisciplinary approach using cell cultures, clinical samples and molecular biology techniques will be used.
