The Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya, and advanced research center established in Barcelona (Spain), focuses its activity on fundamental and applied R&D related to the physical and lower layers of communications systems. Currently, the CTTC is interested in filling the following post-doctoral position in access technologies:

POST-DOCTORAL POSITION:

Access Technologies (Ref. 5/2012-1, 1 position): The post-doctoral researcher is expected to pursue fundamental research on several aspects of wireless Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) communications related with the EC-funded project ICT-EMPhAtiC <www.ict-emphatic.eu> that CTTC leads; should have knowledge on the specification of current cellular-type mobile communication systems (LTE and/or WiMAX), plus strong publication record in scheduling and RRM techniques for cellular systems, relay networks (single/multiple relays, possibly multi-user), and two-way relaying.

Expertise and/or strong publication record in optimization tools such as Lagrangian-based, interior point methods, subgradient and dual decomposition methods is highly appreciated. Good writing skills in English and ability to integrate in a multi-disciplinary team are of interest, as well.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants must be strongly motivated, hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications or electrical engineering; have capacity of carrying out innovative research as well as proven experience in research; a good publication record is fundamental. Practical experience and work experience in international and national R&D projects carried out in the context of R&D institutions will be highly valued.

CONDITIONS
