Video on Human Heart wins the international science and technology visualization challenge

A video produced by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) has won the video category of the 10th annual international science and technology visualization challenge, organised by Science Magazine and the National Science Foundation (NSF). The video 'Alya Red: a computational heart' describes their project to simulate the human heart. It show scientific visualizations of simulations using the computational electromechanical model applied to a rabbit heart. The short film was made by BSC's multi-disciplinary visualization team which makes videos on one hand to help researchers get another angle on their data and on the other to help the general public to understand the significance of our work. BSC is a partner of the "Human Brain Project" that has been selected by the European Commission as one of the two FET Flagship projects set to receive one billion euros to deliver 10 years of world-beating science at the crossroads of science and technology.
