Life Length, the world leader in telomere measurement and testing, is seeking to recruit a Process Development Manager for its facilities in the Cantoblanco Campus in Madrid. The successful candidate will join the only company able to offer a highly scalable technology to measure the individual telomeres by cell and which has vast applications for drug development and clinical trials in the pharma and biotech industries as well as for physicians working in personalized and preventive medicine.

Job Summary: The Process Development Manager provides technical leadership to Life Length's service products and process design, improving and consolidating operation scientific advancement. The successful candidate will be responsible for significant management and technical duties and must execute the work under his/her own initiative with minimal supervision. In addition, the work involves the preparation, set up and organization of routine sample testing; maintenance and enforcement of laboratory safety rules and regulations and providing support when needed to rest of the laboratory staff. Other duties include but are not limited to:
Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support telomere services testing.
Management of optimization of process projects assigned to you (tasks, resources, deadlines, budgeting, written proposal, etc).
Presenting project results to higher management and external stakeholders.
Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments and ensure the knowledge within the laboratory team is up to date.
Attending scientific conferences.
Attending all R&D meetings.
Ensuring compliance with methodologies and regulations.
Establishing improvement of services, applications in the upstream process development workflow to simplify operations and strengthen results.
Working cross functionally with appropriate internal teams to collate internal data as required to develop suitable strategies and proposals.
Serving as technical consultant to projects both internally and externally.
Outlining next level of data needed for continued methodology validation/ acceptance/expansion.
A minimum of three years of experience working in an academic or industry setting performing similar role.
Ph.D degree in life sciences field.
Must have direct experience in commercial service development and/or experience performing process optimization within a biotechnology or pharma company.
High level written and spoken English.
Experience supervising staff including prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations.
Experience managing all aspects of the daily operations of a laboratory, providing technical assistance and participating in the maintenance and use of equipment, computers, and related software.
Knowledge, training, and experience with current laboratory safety practices, procedures, and hazardous materials to ensure applicable rules, regulations, policies, procedures and practices are followed.
Self-starter, team player and problem solver. Willing to learn new technologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong MS Office skills.

Conditions: Salary Range: €32,000 - €38,000 according to experience.
Fixed contract – Includes 3 months' probation.
