The group has experience in the use of microscopic techniques (optical and electronic) for the characterization of membranes and membrane processes, the use of membrane contactors for the concentration of food solutions, and more recently, it has employed membrane emulsification to encapsulate aromas and bioactive compounds. Permanent members of the group are Drs. de Lamo, Ferrando and Güell. At the moment there are three ongoing Ph D projects and the group has wide experience hosting national and international PhD students.

The scholarship is offered in the framework of the Martí i Franqués COFUND Fellowship Programme (MFP) of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain).
