Se busca candidato para solicitar
beca de investigación para doctor en bioinformática
en el Laboratorio de Biomedicina Mol. y Cel. de la UIB, dirigido por los Dr. Pablo V Escribá y Dr. Xavier Busquets.
El candidato optará a la inminente convocatoria de contratos postdoctorales financiados por la UIB, entre otras. El trabajo versará sobre transformación tumoral y caracterización de nuevas dianas terapéuticas, analizando mayoritariamente datos procedentes de secuenciación masiva.
El grupo de Biomedicina Celular y Molecular centra sus actividades en el descubrimiento, diseño, investigación y desarrollo pre-clínico de nuevas moléculas sobre la base de una nueva estrategia terapéutica: la Terapia Lipídica de Membrana (TLM). La TLM que utiliza lípidos bio-activos de diseño para regular interacciones entre lípidos de membrana y proteínas periféricas de transducción de señales. Posteriormente, Lipopharma Therapeutics SL ("spin-off" universitario) acerca al enfermo las nuevas moléculas en ensayos clínicos. Actualmente, estos fármacos en desarrollo abordan enfermedades graves con importantes necesidades médicas por cubrir (como el glioblastoma y otros tipos de cáncer con alteraciones genéticas relacionadas con el metabolismo lipídico, el Alzheimer, la lesión medular, o enfermedades metabólicas, cardiovasculares e inflamatorias). La persona que se incorpore al proyecto participará en el diseño experimental y análisis de los datos d
e secuenciación masiva obtenidos de muestras de pacientes en ensayo clínico de tratamiento de glioma y otros tumores sólidos.
Research Grant Candidate for a
PhD in Bioinformatics
In the Laboratory of Cell and Molecular Biomedicine at the University of the Balearic Islands, led by Dr. Pablo V Escribá and Dr. Xavier Busquets.
The candidate will apply for the imminent call for postdoctoral contracts funded by the University, among others. The project will be about tumor transformation and characterisation of new therapeutic targets, analysing mainly data from massive sequencing.
The Cell and Molecular Biomedicine group focuses on the discovery, design, research and pre-clinical development of new molecules based on a new therapeutic strategy: Membrane-Lipid Therapy (MLT). MLT uses rationally designed bioactive lipid-based compounds to control the interactions that regulate peripheral membrane protein function and signal transduction. Later on, Lipopharma Therapeutics SL (university spin-off) brings the new molecules to the patients in clinical trials. Currently, these developing drugs address serious diseases with important medical needs to be covered (such as glioblastoma and other tumours bearing genetic alterations related to lipid metabolism, Alzheimer's disease, spinal cord injury, or metabolic, cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases). The person joining the project will participate in the experimental design and analysis of the mass sequencing data obtained from patient samples in a clinical trial of treatment of glioma and other solid tumors

REQUISITOS:
- Estar en posesión del grado de doctor sin que hayan transcurrido más de 10 años desde la fecha de obtención, excluidos los periodos descanso derivados de maternidad o paternidad y de grave enfermedad o accidente.
- Trabajo de tesis en el ámbito de la bioinformática, preferentemente con experiencia en análisis de datos procedentes de secuenciación masiva.
- Ser autor o coautor de publicaciones de calidad e impacto; tener movilidad internacional y haber participado en proyectos de investigación con financiación nacional e internacional l.
- Tener experiencia posdoctoral fuera del Estado español en una o mas instituciones diferentes (no imprescindible).
DOTACIÓN ECONÓMICA (de acuerdo con la última convocatoria):
- La duración del contrato es de dos años.
- La ayuda será de 32.500,00 euros en cada una de las dos y se destinará necesariamente a financiar el salario, la cuota patronal de la Seguridad Social y la indemnización por finalización de contrato.

REQUIREMENTS:
- To be in possession of the degree of doctor without more than 10 years since the date of obtaining, excluding the rest periods derived from maternity or paternity and serious illness or accident.
- Thesis work in the field of bioinformatics, preferably with experience in analysing data from massive sequencing.
- Be an author or co-author of publications of quality and impact; have international mobility and have participated in research projects with national and international funding.
- Postdoctoral experience outside the Spanish State in one or more different institutions (not essential).
ECONOMIC APPROPRIATION (according to the last call):
- The duration of the contract is two years.
- The aid will be 32,500.00 euros in each of the two years and it will necessarily be used to fund the salary, the employer's social security contribution and compensation for termination of contract.
