The research group is constituted by 3 professors with a wide experience in the field of experimental fluid mechanics and heat transfer, specifically, they have a deep background in transitional boundary layers, PIV applied to aerosols and jets, and heat transfer in micro heat exchanger with phase change. More information of the researchers and their publications can be found in the public profiles of the professors (José Serna, Francisco-Javier Sánchez Velasco and Alejandro López Belchí) at the center website(http://www.cud.upct.es/index.php/investigacion/plantilla-pdi).
The research facilities consist of a low speed wind tunnel (up to M = 0.1) with stereo-PIV (laser Nd:Yag, 2
cameras, and DANTEC software), DANTEC hot wire, pressure sensors (GE DRUCK and Scanivalve), a high speed camera, a thermographic camera, and all the equipment to perform analog and digital measurements. Additionally, a 3d printer is available to manufacture models. The researcher has more tan 10 years of experience with the use of these measurement techniques.
Finally it must be noted that the Center, depending on the Technical University of Cartagena, is placed on a
military base, being the general research lines related (but not limited) to dual use technologies.

The position is open to any applicant willing to work/learn about experimental fluid dynamics, specifically,
experimental aerodynamics in the frame of the main H2020 research lines. It is not compulsory to have a
background on experimental fluid dynamics, in so far as one of the main goals of the grant is the advance
trainee of the applicant in the research group experimental techniques. The final proposal will be fully
defined between the applicant and the receiving research group.
Among many interest topics we would like to remark the followings: massively separated 3D transitional
flows, influence of the trailing edge geometry on airfoil performances and noise.
